We come alive when we believe in Jesus! It’s the life we’ve always wanted—it’s life in the Kingdom of God. It’s the life for which we were created: A life in relationship with God, the King of all creation.
Psalm 107:35-38 provides us a snapshot of life in God’s Kingdom—the life He births inside us when we believe in Jesus.
He turns a desert into a pool, dry land into springs. -Psalm 107:35 CSB
Life in the desert is arid, hopeless and, at best, uncomfortable. Night is cold and deafeningly dark. The desert represents a place of suffering—even death. Just ask the Israelites who wandered through the desert for 40 years… Life in the desert is not the life God has for His people. Instead, he turns the desert into a pool.
What do you think of when you think of pools? Most of us think “summer fun”! While dips in the pool are awesome during the summer months, that’s not the kind of pool God provides to those who believe in Jesus. The pool God provides in our spirits brings refreshment and satisfaction. It’s a spring of God’s life—eternal life— bubbling up within us.
In the Scriptures, pools and springs represent God’s provision in hopeless situations. Life in the Kingdom of God is people walking through the world—a hopeless desert—offering the refreshing presence of a pool everywhere they go. In essence, we become fountains of God’s life!
People gather around pools in the desert in order to live!
God turns our dead arid desert of a spirit into a pool of life overflowing with joy!
Are you allowing the overflow of God’s presence to pour through your life?
Keep in mind: Someone else’s existence depends on it.
