Life In The Kingdom Of God – Part 4

Jesus invites you and me into life in the Kingdom of God. We enter by believing in Him. Life in the Kingdom of God is blessing. We get to experience life together with Jesus now and forever.

He blesses them, and they multiply greatly; he does not let their livestock decrease. -Psalm 107:38 CSB

Life in the Kingdom of God means we belong to God and He is responsible for us. It represents the Father’s Heart. He wants to bless us. He wants us to multiply. He wants us to thrive. Life in the Kingdom is a full, satisfying, and purpose-driven life!

Look closely at the verse above. There are three distinct points.

First, “He blesses them.” God blesses us when we receive His son into our lives. Believing in Jesus and receiving eternal life is certainly enough blessing. However, God wants us to experience more. He wants us to enjoy the blessing of His presence here and now. He wants us to experience the peace which comes from knowing Him by trusting our lives to His sovereign care.

Second, “They will multiply greatly.” This does mean physical multiplication but it also means spiritual multiplication. As Jesus made clear, we cannot belong to God unless we’re born again spiritually. Therefore, in order to multiply in the Kingdom of God people must be born into it. When we do our part, as explained in yesterday’s post here, multiplication happens! We’re called to share the gospel and God brings the growth and multiplication.

Finally, God “does not let their livestock decrease.” This demonstrates a promise of God’s supernatural presence caring for our physical presence. With one word God could cause all life on earth to cease. In the same way, with one word God does provide supernatural protection and care that we may enjoy life in the kingdom. This is not a fake prosperity gospel promise. It is a promise for God to bless us with what we need to thrive in His kingdom. What that means for us individually is different. For some people, God’s provision brings growth. For others, it’s God’s removing things. Either way, God is working for our growth, for our thriving in His kingdom.

Life in the Kingdom of God is incredible. What’s holding you back form enjoying the full blessing? Surrender it to Jesus and let Him replace it with His very presence.

Tomorrow we begin a new series looking at Luke 15 called, “The Father’s Heart.”
